Another short stop

I've been in Petaluma for a few days and have enjoyed every minute. I've met new friends and visited with dear friends. I've knit and spun.
This is a sweater designed by Melissa Leapman using Tanglewood Fiber Creations beaded Cinnamon Latte (baby camel and silk) We will be making this pattern available to anyone that would like to knit this in any Tanglewood Fiber Creations yarn

This is Shelli and Jeff's daughter Ashliegh with Wayland. Wayland is being stubborn about making an appearance...

Shelli has been knitting a huge Shoulder Candy shawl. It took two skeins and she bound off with this much to spare

Here is the Shoulder Candy in beaded Stone Cashmere/Silk hanging in the sunshine drying

It's summer here with the thermometer hitting 99 today. Jeff decided it was BBQ time and spent the next 4 hours slowly grilling the best ribs ever. I broke out the 18 yr. old Balsamic Vinegar purchased at the farmers market, again the craving for Caprese salad was great. Do you see Wayland there in the picture?

Tmorrow before I leave I will be heading to the newest shop in Petaluma, The Seed Bank. Google- Seed Bank in Petaluma, to find out more about this interesting place.......

A short stop

My Dad loves Trains he should have been a Train Engineer instead of Rocket Engineer. I stopped at Train Mountian to have a ride on his friend Thane's train, there were a lot of other trains and it was interesting to see other people as passionate about thier hobby as the people that attend Black Sheep Gathering. However the train hobby comes with a much larger price tag.

All too soon I was on my way to Petaluma and (as you all ready know) spent the night in Red Bluff. I'm leaving Petaluma tomorrow and look forward to seeing Mike and Steve tomorrow.

The journey Continues.....

On Sunday of last week I went to Sheila's house to write patterns and have some quiet time. I love Sheila's house. It's settled into a hill side in a grove of large and lovely trees. All around are carefully placed flowers and produce. Michael was weeding and harvesting, one night we even had home grown Artichokes. ... Sheila hung my clean laundry out to dry which gave them a lovely scent.
Neither of us were happy about my leaving but I had to re-enter "real" life again and onto meet my Dad at his Train Mountain Meet, and then driving further down to Knitterly in Petaluma Ca. .......

Sheila and I are both knitting socks, this is Sheila's sock

This is my start on a sock. I managed to write three patterns and sorted out some of the problems on a fourth. I hope they pass the test knitting!

What happened before the Journey....

On Tuesday of last week we planted the 60 lavender plants I had purchased over the weekend. David and his friend along with Courtney and our newest helper at TFC Hiedi along with David's daughter all pitched in and planted and planted. After all the outside work there was a lot of inside work. We had to skein and ship yarn, pack up and clean up. It took two days to get ready to go. Courtney reports all the plants are doing well and we finally have some "grow'n" weather in St. Helens.
I'm in Red Bluff CA were the weather is very warm. I've just had to change rooms as the air conditioner quit, and it's late so I'll down load more pictures another time

Mark didn't want to come out of the garden...

Pee Kitty (Isabelle) was throwing herself at Mark. She isn't usually friendly but Mark won her over...

Starting the journy

I'm here at Black Sheep Gathering!! I have taken some pictures but can't seem to download them from the phone.
I have had a wonderful time, however today is moving on day. This was probably the most quiet Black Sheep on record. I will be moving on to Sheilas house today to be completely AWAY, so that I can write a few patterns.

Mom has been very close to our hearts this weekend, as so many of her good friends were here. Trish the sheep got Champion Fine Wool Sheep. Jan was kind enough to give me the ribbon.

(several days later I've made it to high speed, and now there are pictures but let's pretend that this is several days ago..)
Jan and my good friend Cynthia relaxing after a long day at Black Sheep

My other friends Maria and John (John is the sheep shearer for Jan and Maria he likes Glen too....)

A week of making yarn

We've been making yarn this week. On Thursday we sent yarn to Loops, Knitting Central, Loop and Leaf, Knitters Studio Anneka's Needleworks and Wild Fiber. The World Wide Knit in Public day was interesting in Pioneer Sq. Becky started a sock and I started another Shoulder Candy. Becky's sock was rather large and I was having trouble counting so we switched! Now Becky is knitting the shoulder Candy, I will knit on my socks.......

So I have a new phone and things aren't quite sync'ed yet but I'm working out the details..... the camera is not only not working but somehow has a huge dent in it. I haven't got to the repair shop yet but I'm still working on that problem.
Courtney and I have done several new color-ways and I'm really excited about what we've been doing.

Meanwhile these are from my phone

I got to have lunch with Emma and Mark, he's a card!

The new Cabana on my car! I'm ready for BSG now

Sushi go round in Salem having lunch with Becky

Jan and I at the Mac store doing phone stuff.......

Just a quicky to say that I'm still alive and thinking of you all. Knit Long and Prosper!
