Say Goodbye Cleo!

The car and trailer is pcked up, really packed. I'm heading home today.
Goofy Cyruss is laying in a potted plant watching us pack up with the knowledge that he isn't going. He explodes in the car.

Here is the back of the car almost packed, there is more now

The view from the passagers seat to the rear

The trailer which has a new wheel baring and a new "drop" and ball.

Mike has pulled the car into the road so I'm going..................................

Making Yarn While the Sun Shines

It's turned kinda warm here, while lovely for strolling in the shade or having a picnic, making Cashmere yarn and cooking Pot Roast not so much!

I've (Cynthia) has confirmed that I am going to Knitting Central for the weekend of Sept. 12th, so if you want to knit socks or see how yarn is made or get your own skein of "Ice" then Knitting Central will be the place you want to go!

Here is the Mom's Bench Warming. This is Dad (left) Mr. England (middle) and Mrs. England fingering the last lap robe Mom made which was for my Dad...........

We all went for a stroll through the Rose Garden and smelt the roses

Mrs. England said a few words

The we had a picnic in the park

Fast Forward a week and here is Cleo hanging out by my side while beading yarn, this is the only space not dangerous to her health or fur!

Steven is showing you the largest skein ever. This monster skein of Ice is 11 1/2 ozs. There is a lot of yardage but I'm not sure how many until it is washed. If you want this skein let one of your retailers know and it's yours........(Steven is extra)

I'm off to Oregon tomorrow. The Trailer is fixed and packed now just to do the car. Wish me (and Cleo) luck!

Winding Down

Sleeping has been the order of the day. We had a wonderful day yesterday at the bench warming. I thought I took pictures but I was the only one that didn't so I'll have to wait until someone sends me some.
I have been spinning for some metal health and have really enjoyed it. I love spinning.
This is my friend Sara she is a hotty and loves to make my hair better than the rest of the package.
She has decided that she needs files

A ball ready for Becky to make a Shoulder Candy on her trip to Wisconsin for her real job

The trailer has been repaired again as Mike found that the wheel barrings had let loose on one of the tires. An accident averted. I'm going to spin with Alexandra today. I'm going to get ready for another drive this week along with Cleo. Although I'm looking forward to being back in Oregon but the weather here is so nice and I've wanted to visit more with friends, but time marches on and I have to get back to work to prepare for the Trunk Show at Knitting Central in September. Enjoy the last days of Summer, and keep cool!

Tulsa a hot bed of knitting

Those ladies (and Gent's) at Loops are knitting again. The PJ Party was so wonderful and Gina Marie must have bought more yarn and did this lovely shawl and will receive another $10 off coupon for more Tanglewood Fiber Creations!

You'll have to contact Gina Marie at Loops for this pattern, there is one but I don't have it. Lots of knitting excitement at Loops, I know a Cossacks Hat (in Fireworks bulky and regular from a pattern found in "Folk Hats") and the Tanglewood Cardigan are also being constructed not sure if it's going to be in beaded Cinnamon Latte (Camel/Silk) or "Ice" (beaded 75% Royal Cashmere/25% Silk beaded with Swarovski Crystals, Cech beads and the infamous Glow in the Dark beads)

There is a lot going on at Knitting Central in preparation for the Tanglewood Trunk Show and our booth at Stitches East. Cynthia has big plans and as I get pictures and details you will too...I know there will be a lot of "Ice".

I'm in the care of Mike and going to get my hair sorted out by Sarah W. I'll take pictures and there is some special yarn going out today to Grace at Wild Fiber and a special skein to my friend Phyllis at Loops.

California Dreamn'

Sock Summit is another memory and so is the epic trip to Los Angeles with Steven. We had a great time and are planning our Christmas trip to San Francisco. I'm enjoying the second day of not having to get up at a certain time and a day by myself. Steven is starting school today and Mike is working his last day before he takes a week off to spend with me. Cleo couldn't be happier to see me and I her. She will be making my trip back to Oregon around the 25th and will stay with me while I take time to work on several challenges that need addressing.
Becky's Housewarming party is Aug. 29th and Mom's Bench warming is this Saturday at 1:30 if you would like to attend Mom's Bench warming it's at 1:30 at the South Coast Botanic Gardens

Now to the pictures.....
This is us unpacking on the side of the road in front of the Convention Center for Sock Summit

Steven, Cheryl and I preparing the booth at Sock Summit

Sue Brady holding a skein that was spun by her. Sue Brady does very fine spinning and I've been beading her yarn and plying it with mine. I had never met Sue until this day and I know I scared her with my enthusiasm but I really love plying her yarn. It always goes well when it's spun by Sue. Beading yarn is hard and can be very frustrating so to have well spun fiber to do it with is a huge treat.. I love you Sue

Courtney and Heidi manning the booth while I enjoy a lunch prepared by Becky

Shelli and Cheryl at Voodoo Donuts

The line to the counter

the selection tempting us

One of the events we attended was the Luminary Panel, we had met Anna Zilborg and Barbara Walker when they came by our booth

Too soon it was all over and this is what our booth looked like the day after Sock Summit ended

After unpacking and taking Shelli and Cheryl to the airport on Monday, wishing Emma a happy birthday it was time to pack up for the drive back to Los Angeles via Petaluma to return all the booth trappings and bring down our booth equipment for TNNA in January. We hiked in the Redwoods, which was breathtaking but I, despite the warning, didn't have good enough foot gear on and have many nasty blisters to remind me of that lovely day. I suffer it happily as breathtaking doesn't seem enough for what we saw. We spent a few days in the San Francisco area visiting friends. We went to Fisherman's Wharf and to Boudins, here is Steven enjoying the best Sour-Dough Bread

The crowd at Boudins

On the way on I-5 we lost the ball that attaches the trailer to the car, Steven managed to get the trailer onto the side of the road and we went to purchase a new ball and then picked up the trailer off I-5 and made it to Lakewood. Steven went out to take care of some business and swerved to avoid an other car and busted his tire. Another auto repair lesson, here is Mike and Steven working on the spare, by the way it's a good idea to check the spare to make sure it has air in it, Steven learned this lesson too....

I'm taking today off and try and catch up with some paperwork, and so some spinning! Have a great day!

We've done it!

Steven and I survived the heat and we are moved into our booth at Sock Summit. It has been very busy at Tanglewood Fiber Creations we have made over three hundred skeins, in the last month. Steven, Courtney, Heidi and I have completely re done the Office and the Dye Studio. We lost nearly all our lavender due to the heat, and while that is very sad we finished the harvest of the mature lavender today.

There are so many details that have been coming together and I'm pretty fried, Steven said that next summer he's going to Summer School!

Now to the pictures
Here I am at the spinning wheel spinning cashmere in 113 degree heat

Unpacking at the Convention Center

Shelli Steven and I most of the way unpacked at Sock Summit

Steven and Becky are in charge of the food while we are doing Sock Summit. Steven is shopping while I'm talking with you at Safeway but only a short while because I still have home-work for my class tomorrow and all of the yarn needs to be hung and displayed. If you are going to be at Sock Summit come to the back and beyond to the Tanglewood Fiber Creation's booth we have many surprises and free gift with purchase. I'm thinking of you and look forward to posting some great pictures!
